Robot Fafnir from War Robots Game
Fafnir is a flying robot dragon that can stay in the air for as long as it wants, using the same principle as the Shapeshifters. While on the ground, Fafnir diverts its power into increased defense and activates an in-built weapon capable of dealing devastating damage to Titans while it is in the air. Fafnir is developed by the EvoLife corporation, and it has four medium hardpoints.
Ability of Fafnir
Fafnir’s ability is named Shapeshift. It allows Fafnir to freely switch between walking and flying, staying in any mode for as long as needed. While on the ground, it gets increased defense and four weapon slots. In the air, it disables two of its weapon slots to enable a built-in weapon that deals increased damage to Titans. It also activates an Absorber shield for several seconds when it starts to take off.
The Absorber shield is an impenetrable shield that can absorb an unlimited amount of damage. The built-in weapon is an energy weapon that fires at a range of 350 meters, dealing high damage based on the amount of incoming projectiles absorbed by the shield. The damage absorbed by the shield enhances the built-in weapon by up to 100% (double).
The Shapeshift and Absorber shield abilities make Fafnir a very effective robot that can deal high damage and protect itself from enemy fire at close range. The abilities also allow Fafnir to fly over obstacles and enemies.
Strategy of Fafnir
Fafnir is a medium robot with four medium hardpoints. This means that it can equip a variety of weapons to suit different ranges and playstyles. Some of the popular weapon combinations for Fafnir are:
Ember and Blaze: These are flamethrowers that deal continuous damage and have a chance to ignite the enemy. They are effective at close range and can bypass physical shields.
Nucleon and Quarker: These are energy weapons that deal more damage as they fire continuously. They are effective at mid-long range and can bypass energy shields.
Glacier and Rime: These are rocket launchers that deal high burst damage and have a chance to freeze the enemy. They are effective at close range and can break physical shields.
The best way to use Fafnir is to time its ability wisely and take advantage of its Absorber shield and built-in weapon. Fafnir should avoid exposing itself to enemy fire when its ability is on cooldown or when its Absorber shield is depleted, as it has low durability and no other defensive mechanisms. Fafnir should also avoid engaging enemies at long range, as it is slow and vulnerable.
A good strategy for Fafnir is to switch to flying mode and activate its Absorber shield and built-in weapon, then fire at enemies, especially those with low health or weak defenses. Fafnir can also use its ability defensively, to protect itself from enemy fire or to reposition itself for a better angle.
Fafnir Threat Measure
Fafnir is one of the most effective robots in War Robots, as it can switch between walking and flying modes and activate an Absorber shield and a built-in weapon that deal high damage at close range. However, Fafnir is not invincible, and it has some weaknesses that can be exploited by smart enemies.
Some of the ways to counter Fafnir are:
Use stealth detection or quantum radar modules to reveal its location and target it.
Use weapons or abilities that can bypass or break its Absorber shield, such as rockets, flamethrowers, Titans’ weapons, or Arthur’s Blast Wave.
Use weapons or abilities that can disable or reduce its firepower or mobility, such as EMP, suppression, lockdown, or corrosion.
Use teamwork and coordination to focus fire on Fafnir when its ability is on cooldown or when it is outnumbered.
Counterplay Fafnir
Fafnir is a very effective robot that can deal high damage and protect itself from enemy fire at close range with its Absorber shield and built-in weapon. However, there are some robots that can counter Fafnir effectively, either by using their own abilities or by using their weapons. The table below shows some of the robots that can counter Fafnir in different ways.
Scorpion can teleport behind Fafnir and freeze it with its rockets, preventing it from using its ability or escaping.
Hawk can fly above Fafnir and damage it with its beam, bypassing its Absorber shield and built-in weapon.
Shell can charge at Fafnir and detonate its explosive shield, breaking its Absorber shield and freezing it.
Typhon can disable Fafnir’s ability and weapons with its Blackout 2.0, and suppress it with its machine guns.
Orochi can stealthily approach Fafnir and ignite it with its flamethrowers, bypassing its Absorber shield and built-in weapon.
The total upgrade cost of Fafnir from level 1 to level 12 is 198.7 million Ag
